The Weekly CEO Date

You love animals. You’re hustling hard. So why does it feel like you’re always behind, always reacting, and never actually getting ahead in your pet sitting business?

The Weekly CEO Date: A Simple Success Habit That Will Transform Your Pet Sitting Business

If you’ve ever started your Monday morning feeling overwhelmed, scrambling to figure out what needs to happen, or constantly putting out fires instead of moving your business forward, this post is for you.

We’re diving into one of the most powerful success habits that has changed the game for hundreds of pet sitting business owners—and it only takes 30 to 60 minutes a week.

No complicated systems. No expensive tools. Just you, your planner, and a commitment to leading your business like the CEO you are.

Let’s go. 🐾

The Problem with Reactive Mode

Here’s the truth: if you’re not planning your week, your week is planning you.

When you wake up Monday morning without a clear plan, you’re immediately in reactive mode. Client emails dictate your day. Your team’s questions pull you in ten directions. And before you know it, the week is over and you haven’t made progress on anything that actually moves the needle in your business.

🛑 Your business needs a leader. That leader is you.

But you can’t lead from a place of chaos. You need to be intentional about where your time and energy go.

Introducing: The Weekly CEO Date

This is my non-negotiable success habit. Every Sunday, I sit down for 30 to 60 minutes with my planner and map out my week.

And I’m not just the CEO of Pet Nanny Pet Sitters of the Main Line and Pet Nanny Coach—I’m also the CEO of the Sedgwick family. So this habit keeps both my business AND my life running smoothly.

Here’s exactly how it works:

Step 1: Write Out Your Week on the Calendar Page

Start by looking at the calendar section of your planner for the upcoming week. Write out all of your appointments and engagements. This includes:

  • Client consultations
  • Team meetings
  • Personal appointments
  • Kids’ activities
  • Date nights

Then I add two more critical categories that keep me balanced:

Workouts: I write down which days I’m exercising and what type of workout I’m doing. This ensures my health doesn’t fall to the bottom of the priority list.

Dinners: I plan what we’re having for dinner each night. This one simple step eliminates the 5 PM “what’s for dinner?” stress and keeps my family fed without daily decision fatigue.

Step 2: Get Intentional About Your Business Goals

On the next page, at the top, I write “Week of [date].”

Then I ask myself: What do I need to accomplish this week?

This is where the magic happens. Instead of letting the week happen to you, you’re deciding what needs to happen. You’re choosing your focus.

Maybe it’s:

  • Following up with 10 client leads
  • Finishing your new hire training manual
  • Launching that Facebook ad campaign
  • Interviewing candidates for your team
  • Creating SOPs for a service you want to delegate

Whatever it is, write it down. Get crystal clear on what success looks like for this week.

Why This Works

The Weekly CEO Date keeps you focused and out of reactive mode.

When you start Monday morning, you’re not wondering what to do. You’re not scrambling. You’re not guessing. You already know what needs to happen, and you’re ready to execute.

This one habit creates:

Clarity: You know exactly where you’re going.

Focus: You’re working on what matters, not just what’s urgent.

Control: You’re leading your business instead of being led by it.

Balance: You’re protecting time for your health, your family, and yourself.

You Can’t Build a Six-Figure Business from Reactive Mode

If you want to launch, grow, and multiply your pet sitting business to six figures and beyond, you need to operate like a CEO—not just a pet sitter who answers emails.

CEOs plan. They prioritize. They protect their time and energy for high-impact activities.

And that’s exactly what the Weekly CEO Date allows you to do.

Make This Your New Sunday Ritual

Here’s your challenge: test out this success habit this week.

Set aside 30 to 60 minutes this Sunday. Grab your planner. And map out your week like the CEO you are.

Write out your appointments, your workouts, your dinners. Then get intentional about what you need to accomplish to create the results you want in your business and your life.

You’re going to wake up Monday morning feeling so much more focused, confident, and ready to take action.

And when you do? I want to hear about it. Let me know how it goes!

Your business is waiting for you to lead it. Let’s make it happen. 🚀
